When property is bought or sold, the buyer or seller should complete an Ownership Change form and submit it. Once the sale is recorded on King County Records Lakehaven (aka the District) will find the seller’s account number and establish a new account number in the buyer’s name. The District uses the date of the recording as the effective date of the sale. We do not stop and start the water/sewer service. We always keep the account in the name of the recorded owner of the property.
We understand there are times when you'll be out of town for an extended period of time and may need to temporarily suspend your service. Submit the Request Temporary Suspension of Charges form. If you're uncertain about your situation please contact a customer service representative 253-946-1516 or Email.
The District never puts the tenant’s name on the bill. The name on the bill will be the name of the recorded owner of the property. We always send the original bill to the owner. If the owner wants the tenants to receive a copy of the bill we set up a duplicate bill. This bill will be sent to the property address and it will be addressed to “Occupant”. Contact your landlord or owner of the property to ask them to request a duplicate bill.
